Welcome to Episode 1 of our Miniseries "The Rise of the Illgaard"
our side arc until after the 2026 holidays when Kelsey Middaugh will return to The Lantern saga
Here in Episode 1 we set the stage for the background of the series, meet the characters, set the scene and walk the Path of Embers with Illyark with his fate in the hands of the players and chance. 
We find familiar players 
 Tim Morgan (Ulfar the Hexed, of the Lantern saga) Brings to us  Zaaranth, an orc bladesinger whom has become accustomed to the comforts of high elven life alongside his mentor the warmage Anslin Kotraine
Mike Auriemma (Ceahcyl Mortesta of the Lantern Saga) joins us as Grhym an orcish strategist and assassin that grew up in the streets of a war-torn land alone until was he pulled to his feet and given purpose by Illvaaryn himself
Marc Graff our newest member to the team and the table, Marc plays Zelus, a drow mercenary who leads an elite team of dark elven "Specialists" in war and masters of guerilla warfare.
 
Also we find familiar characters, Lord Illvaaryn Borgresh who has left the Hidden Vale and the kingdom of Wystere to bring his son back home and call his people back to Valkadyr to take back their ancestral hold from Illgradys, his brother, who has defiled his peoples name and has gone unpunished long enough.
Then we see Illyark the Grim, villain of the lantern saga. Freed by the nobles and brought to the temple to seek redemption. will we see him burn upon the Path of Embers or will we witness the birth of an oath of Vengeance?
Literally left to the roll of the dice in the hands of the players who once hunted him across the frozen north and into the cradle of life where their clash changed the course of an entire campaign, and a Broken soul in the Balance.

Featuring "The Rise of the Illgaard" Trailer before episode start
The Nobles Nya, Ceahcyl and Ulfar along with their companion Bahkuul The paladin of the Ancient Oath rest up after the battle with the Black Dragon and head to Nyzzdal. There they find conditions unlike anything they ever expected. They meet Hurst the tyrant spore druid and find he holds the Breath of Sylwos. A guardian's vow is fulfilled, and the Wilder stones call to  Ceahcyl.

The Nobles Nya, Ceahcyl and Ulfar finish their visit to Udoralal with a Buzz! Re supplying their stock and upgrading some wares they begin saying their farewells and leave for Miqua's Mire to seek the Breath of Sylwos in Nyzz'dal. Joined by the ancient Tortle paladin Baakul who gives Ceahcyl some gifts for his future journeys. Along the way the Captain picks up 2 new passengers for charter. Once they enter the swamp it doesn't take long for the dangerous denizens to show themselves and Ulfar puts life and limb at risk. Nya receives a cryptic message from Lord Vendron's ledger.

The Nobles. Nya, Ceahcyl and Ulfar prepare to battle the fiend possessing Illyark. While preparing for the task ahead of them, they discover an even deeper betrayal linked to their former fallen companion Kallydus. With the aid of Captain Kotraine and a unexpected companion they take on the Harbinger of Gruumsh. When all is said and done, a visitor surprises the party, and they are called before the Oaken Seat to decide the final outcome for Illyark.

As the Nobles and the Rest of Abolasia Prepare to do battle with the Invading forces of The Sorrow. Ulfar sees a familiar face in the crowd. Nya and Ceahcyl take flight. Captain Kotraine unleashes the full fury of "The White Ghost". Sardon faces The Sorrow Head on, and the Champions are put in a situation that tests the very fiber of their moral fabric. A discovery is made that chills the blood of the Nobles as they realize the real battle has only just begun!
Join us as we journey with the Nobles from the frozen north and fight a battle in defense of the borders of Udoralal and they discover that the heart of Darkness beats colder than they ever imagined.

The Nobles join the captain and meet some of the Natives and the Usari King Sardon. With the aid of the Keeper of the World Tree Dorn, Ulfar learns more about his people's origins as well as to his tie to the Sumarbrandar. Ceahcyl learns of the sacred circles and embraces the gift of The Mother Stones, Nya makes a deal with the Raven Mother, As death marches on Abolasia. the Grizzled King issues a call to arms; Hans awakens The White Ghost. Udoralal readies its offense!

Welcome to another emotional chapter of laughter and tears as The Noble Companions Nya, Ceahcyl, and Ulfar aboard the "White Ghost" enter the "Great Flow". The ancient river believed to be the tears of the creator goddess, Aurianna Truelight, and make their way into the cradle of all life on Chasmar, Abolasia. There they see the great world tree and enter into the city within its boughs of Udoralal, home of the bear folk known as the Usari. Ceahcyl learns how to swim, the party is overwhelmed with a reverence they have never felt. Ulfar has another vison from the Sumarbrandar indicating where he needs to start his search. Ceahcyl meets his late grandfather's guardian.  Maddie has a recount of how she met the captain and tells us how she ended up on the "White Ghost".

The Companions reunite on the White Ghost and set out on the journey to Abolasia to the city in the World Tree. They are pursued by a steam powered ship which runs into some "Complications". Ceahcyl cannot hide his feelings of discontent towards one of his companions. Ulfar falls ill and Ceahcyl comes to his rescue. Nya has a heart to heart with her best friend. Ulfar and Ceahcyl end up in "Warm" water.

After their bitter victory at the Crown of Tiamat and the unlikely confrontation with Illyark and the Sorrow. Ulfar and Ceahcyl finally return to "The White Ghost" and have a heart to heart with the Captain and Maddie. The captain seems concerned by Nya's absence from the group. Meanwhile Nya meets with her uncle and his society of Assassins and is put to a test of her shadow abilities and taught the art of stealth. Sent on a rescue mission to an unexpected location with a mysterious snake being her mettle is tested as well as her heart.

The Nobles Must face the traitor Lord Anguis in Combat atop the bridge leading to the temple of Tiama'Ta while a great army of the serpent folk is close behind every step. They must solve a riddle to enter the temple and face the Guardian of the breath of Myzza. Ulfar and Ceahcyl come face to face with Illyark. Ulfar's first encounter with the grim war priest leaves a lasting impression in the heart and soul of the hardy Northman. Nya is swept away by a lighthearted underling of the Mysterious man in black. Ulfar and Ceahcyl trek the desert back to Perot to turn in their camels and return to the safety of "The White Ghost"
